Founded in 1961, the North DeKalb Chargers have proudly served the Doraville, Georgia community for over six decades. As one of the region’s most established youth football and cheerleading programs, our organization has remained dedicated to developing young athletes both on and off the field. What began as a small, local initiative has grown into a respected program offering Spring Flag Football, Fall Tackle Football, and Cheerleading for children across multiple age divisions. Our mission is rooted in teaching the fundamentals of football and cheerleading in a safe, structured environment — building not only athletic skills but also character, teamwork, and discipline.
Over the years, our teams have competed in top-tier youth leagues across Georgia, earning a reputation for grit, sportsmanship, and community pride. Memorable matchups, such as our close 8–0 game against the Central DeKalb Jaguars in 2021, have only strengthened our legacy and deepened the bonds within our Charger family. Beyond the game, the Chargers have become a community fixture, celebrated in local media and featured in interviews like the one conducted by TwinSportsTV with our 6U team at Anderson Park. We’re proud of our athletes, coaches, and volunteers — each of whom plays a part in continuing the Charger tradition. As we look ahead, our commitment remains the same: to inspire, educate, and elevate the next generation of student-athletes in DeKalb County and beyond.
